Volunteers are invited to join Kronosaurus Korner for both short and long term activities. Our volunteering, internship and work experience programs are intended to motivate and benefit those taking part. All opportunities have flexible work commitments and aim to provide a rewarding and inspiring experience for everyone involved. Volunteers work behind-the-scenes in one of the two main areas of the Kronosaurus Korner, either the visitor information centre or the fossil preparation laboratory.
SHORT-TERM VOLUNTEERING
Suited for those who are unable to offer their time on a regular basis. These opportunities may be as short as a week, including those taking part in work experience or short-term fossil preparation courses.
LONG-TERM VOLUNTEERING (“FRIENDS OF THE MUSEUM”)
This is for those looking to volunteer on an ongoing basis. This commitment is typically over a number of years, e.g. staying for a few weeks in Richmond over consecutive sessions. These volunteers are normally involved in updating the catalogue of fossils and preparing fossils in the laboratory.
INTERNSHIPS
Build your skills through placement in Kronosaurus Korner’s visitor information and palaeontology departments. Internships are an intensive experience that aims to provide you with on-the-job training and first-hand experience working in an active museum.
*Internships are seasonal but vacancies are not guaranteed
