Looking for a unique holiday experience the whole family can participate in? Kronosaurus Korner will be holding family friendly half day digs during the school holidays! Yes – that’s right – real field experience – and children are welcome*. A day for beginners of all ages.
Join Kronosaurus Korner Tour Guide in a secret location for the ultimate palaeo experience. Spend time hunting for fossils and you’re guaranteed to reveal an ancient treasure.
Share our privilege accessing this private dig site. This site is not normally open to the public, so it’s a real treat! Learn the professional process to finding, identifying and classifying 110 million year old fossils left behind by an ancient inland sea.
Leaving Kronosaurus Korner in the early morning (8.00am), we will drive 40km to the dig site, where our guide will make sure you have all the training and tools. Fossils of marine reptiles, fish and invertebrates are commonly found at this site. We will return back to town by 12.00pm, followed by a self-guided museum tour.
Please note: It will potentially be hot. You will get dusty/dirty. You will find fossils that you can keep**.
